everytime you load a savestate in melonDS it creates another one saving the state before the load so you can go back to it by clicking the undo load button. But even after you closed melonDS you can still load that state, it's called timewarp.mln and is located in the same folder as melonDS lies.

Posted by jlrruben it's probably a texture alignment issue. The OpenGL renderer is just not as accurate as the software renderer so things like this can happen from time to time. maybe your computer is too slow? Try enabling the JIT recompiler.

at first sight the bug you had seemed to be one which haunted us for a long time and which we hoped was fixed in 0.9.4. quick update:
Using the savefile inside the savestate you gave us I managed to reproduce your issue on real 3DS, which means if this is a melonDS bug it must have happened put your game into a state not reachable on a real console. Possibly this could also be a bug in the game. Did you at any point used cheats? Also if you use an older version of melonDS which doesn't implement data aborts correctly (0.9.3 or earlier) you can teach a Pokemon fly and fly to another town. The crash doesn't happen afterwards (as far as I have tested), though the crash does occur when staying in the place where the save brings you. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! The purpose of the PU (protection unit) is to control cachability of individual memory regions and to help developers find errors in their programs (when they access unmapped memory regions). Starting from version 0.9.4 melonDS emulates it for the most part. If your modded savefile trips it, something is fishy about it and it will with likely not work on a real DS either. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! no, GBA games can only be inserted so that DS games can detect them. E.g. some games unlock certain bonuses if you do something like this.
