I am trying to configure my melonDS using BIOS files and firmware from the 3DS DS mode. For more info I am using a New 3DS XL and loadind the dsbf dumper through nds bootstrap via TWiLight Menu. I believe I am able to find the main firmware as a 128kb file, but I have to rename it (it doesn't dump as firmware.bin, is that normal?) but I have no idea where the bios9 and bios7 are located. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to wait a specific amount of time for it to dump correctly? Please help
(If it makes any difference, I also have an Old 3DS XL I can try to dump from) |

The BIOS will be BIOSNDS7.ROM and BIOSNDS9.ROM, the firmware will be FWxxxxxxx.BIN, those names are fine, just copy them to somewhere on your computer and set the paths in the melonDS settings to point at them.
Note that when using a DSi or 3DS to dump the firmware, you won't get a bootable firmware image and so you need to have direct boot enabled. |

Thank you. Where on the SD card are those files saved? I know the firmware is saved to the root but where are the BIOS files? |

In this video they are all saved to the root, albeit this wasn't done on the 3DS I'm not aware of any reason it should be different. If in doubt you can use a search on your computer to find the bios files I am having problems myself with dumping from a 3DS (I only have an old 3ds xl) as I describe in my thread https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=868 Did you find that the dumper says it has completed the dumping? |

Yes it's just a 3DS without the 3D screen, it works the same. |
