melonDS RC bugs
The RC has lasted quite long, heh...

It seems that a recurring problem with it is that multiple windows don't work with OpenGL. The issue is that it seems to be a Windows problem -- I tested it on Fedora and it works fine (although there is another weird bug related to hiDPI scaling).

If you've paid attention to the window decorations on my screenshots, you've prolly seen it -- the last Windows I've been willing to use was Windows 7, but I use Linux now...

The aforementioned OpenGL issue is likely related to context sharing, so hopefully not a complex issue. I'd just need to install recent Windows in a VM of sorts, or have someone else do the testing and fixing.

I guess that's also why I'm less motivated by melonDS these days... my brain is all about the intellectual stimulation and challenge. I guess a lot of emudevs are like me too, it's more fun to go after emulation bugs or reverse-engineer hardware :P

We'll come up with a fix, though.

We always do.

Windows has become a true test of patience for me so I don't blame you. Never lost faith in you or the team here for melonDS. There is nothing like facing a problem or obstacle and working through it to find a solution to boost confidence and interests. Keep it up and hope things go smooth for you Arisotura 😎.

I get that. Linux may have its flaws, but atleast it isn't bombarding me with stupid crap all the time and it does what I tell it to do, not the other way around.

God I hate that modern software trend. "Hey look! We added a fart button!" "Over here! Try our new feature!" "Give us a review!" ARGL

anyway, thanks!

Hi, I've been a long time emulator user for ds, 3ds and switch, and had used Citra, Yuzu, and drastic. I'm interested in using your melonDs emulator cause of its ability to do online multiplayer. But there isn't any official android compatible download I found from this site. Only an unofficial app on Google Play. Some tips would be greatly appreciated.

Nice to hear a little update on things, hope you're doing well!

Getting past these annoying issues is a means to hopefully sparking some future motivation :)

Would you mind releasing an update that fixes the crash when "closing the lid"? Particularly one that is compatible with savestates from 1.0RC

that bug has already been fixed, you can check the nightly builds (see download page)

(or wait for the proper 1.0 release I guess)

I don't really have anything to say about bugs or anything. I just wanted to say thanks to you and your team. I also wanted to say, as somebody who has their own mental things going on, that I hope your load gets a least little lighter and stays that way. Your work with melonDS helps me with said things by the way of old pokemon games. I don't know if that helps to hear at all, but I hope it does.

to Derick

if you want them to work more time on this, at least donate to the project monthly, if you cant do that, them shut up and let them work at their own pace.

Windows 7 my beloved. I was cleaning out my room after a house fire and I found my special win7 installation disk. I'd wiped so many machines with it, back in the days of rampant viruses and frequent software bricking... Good times, good times
