During the Spear Pillar cutscene, the top ~25% of the screen stops updating. This occurs when two portals are supposed to open there, which never load in for melonDS. The top part of the screen doesn't receive the visual effects (blur when the mountain is shaking), and when Dialga and Palkia appear, they get trimmed off, such that only their feet show. Here are some pictures using the Software 3D renderer (on melonDS version 0.9).
(motion effect not working on top 25% of screen) (Dialga and Palkia being trimmed off) With OpenGL, the other part of the screen additionally turns blue. I tested it using Desmume with the same ROM/save file, and it works. These are the portals which I assume are related in some way; which melonDS doesn't load in Dialga and Palkia on Desmume I've been playing through the game with a couple friends, and they experienced the same thing on their systems, so I think it isn't the ROM or my PC acting up. If this is something you'd like to look into, please let me know if there's any other information I could provide that would help. I can also provide a savestate of just before the cutscene starts, but if possible, I would prefer sending it privately. |

Sure thing. I sent it to you via private message; is that alright?
Unfortunately, it's harder to get to through save file, because there's a battle between the last point you can save at and the cutscene. I tried setting it up so it's easy to go through quickly. Unsure how familiar with Pokemon you are, so just in case, here's what I generally did for the battle when getting back to the cutscene- Take a step forward to start the battle 1. Flare Blitz left Bronzor 2. ThunderPunch left Golbat 3. Close Combat left Skuntank 4. Close Combat right Bronzor 5. Close Combat right Purugly 6. ThunderPunch right Golbat There's a little RNG involved for if a Reflect gets set up. Sorry for the inconvenience with that. Please let me know if there's anything else I could do to help! |

Posted by crossmr I use the 'Migrate from X' option on the main screen to see if the GBA is recognized for dual slot or not, and that seems to work. I tested with Ruby, and was able to find Solrock at Lake Verity. If you don't see the 'Migrate from Ruby' option on the main screen, I think that means the save file attached to the game is insufficient. I believe you need to have saved at least one time in the GBA game (could definitely be wrong, but that's what's worked for me). I tried deleting my FireRed save file and using the one autogenerated- it no longer appeared as a migration option, and dual slot encounters stopped occurring. I loaded FireRed in mGBA, saved at the first chance, loaded everything back up in melonDS, and both the migration option and dual slot encounters started working again. |
