Just attempting to do this with .90 on windows on pokemon platinum, and having issues.
Frame limiter is set to off. Wifi is set to bind to any address and randomize mac address. If I don't randomize the address, then the two instances can't see each other in the room renamed the second copy of the rom and save file The two copies can see each other in the room but can't get past the initial introduction phase. As soon as I attempt to talk to the other, it starts to negotiate and then kicks both out with an error. Also tried disabling audio sync, that didn't help |

I tried this.. I almost got it.. with audio off and 1x, I was able to initiate the trade but when graveler evolved, it gave me a communication error.
I also turned off screen filter, show OSD, changed the layout back to "natural" and made sure screensizing was "even". After doing this, I completed an evolution of golem. However at this point it switched to "please wait for communication" on both emulators, and after about 20 or 30 seconds it gave me a blue screen error again. However, at this time, Both emulators had golem in the party. I exited the room on my main copy and he indeed kept golem in his party and it is saved. It wasn't pretty but it worked. There has to be some other setting to get this to go without the crash. |

are there any known issues/specific gba roms this may or may not work with?
I got this working with fire red on route 201 in platinum, got a growlithe, so I know it was working. I just tried this with Ruby and I'm on iron island trying to get a mawile and it's been an hour. I can't even recall how many encounters I've had, around 70 and none. so I'm just wondering if I'm being really unlucky or if it might have issues detecting the rom. It would be nice if we could get some in emulator confirmation that the rom is really loaded. I just opened the ruby rom first, then opened platinum same as I did for fire red. After about 2 hours of testing half a dozen different roms, I would say that ruby isn't working at all in the same way. I went to look for mawile in iron island and I tried sol rock near lake verity, and neither one of them showed up after dozens and dozens of encounters. |
