This thread of mine was initially about common interests and DS games, but because I accidentally said some things which relate to pirating and roms, this thread of mine got much more controversial then I imagined it would.

I will no longer be active on this peculiar thread because I will be focusing on my new one. I also have deleted any messages I said on this thread because I felt uncomfortable with the messages I said here.

This new thread of mine that I made somewhere else should hopefully replace the purpose of my old one successfully, but without any problems or controversy.

If an admin would be nice enough to answer this message that would be good. I would be interested to know if it would possible for a user to remove their own message or forum, because I want to be able to delete a thread of mine so I don’t have to continue annoying other people with it, and I can forget about what I said in a controversial post of mine.

Initially it just started with me wanting to know what DS games other people liked to play so I can build common interests, but, I accidentally mentioned some divisive topics which I do not want to discuss in too much detail for infringement reasons. I’ll just say it had something to do with mentioning piracy and roms.

A couple of admins got involved in my own thread which was kind of unexpecting for me, and also a little worrisome for me too. I wish to delete my threads so I can never get into controversies with other people in this website. You probably can’t but I would like to know whether or not it is truly impossible.

Message to poudlink - Thanks for clarifying, and yeah, I was thinking you can't delete threads which is a little surprising but that's okay.

I think I'll just start a new thread that was similar to my old one, but this time I'll make sure not to talk illegally about pirating and roms and such. I will be less active on my old one.

Hopefully this new thread of mine will be less controversial.

If an admin/developer can read this that would be cool. Apologies for being a pain in the past but I like the new 9.0 update to MelonDS and I would like to see the emulator improve as time goes on. If it will continue to receive updates then here are some extra features I think would be cool for it.

1 - Fullscreen Button
It would be sweet if a hotkey setting could be implemented for MelonDS to make its window go full-screen when playing games. Maybe the default keys could be Alt + Enter like with other types of emulators. Additionally, add a setting to keep the top HUD of MelonDS for when choosing to go full-screen, that could be enabled or disabled of user's choice.

2 - Background Decoration
This is less important, but maybe as a choice to decorate the black background of MelonDS when playing games to make it look less bland visually, add a setting to change the background of a window. Even something as simple as changing color would be nice.

3 - Game Directory
To make choosing NDS game files to play with MelonDS extra convenient, give the emulator an option to choose a directory to scan NDS files. Successfully scanned NDS files can be choosen to play from a list as shown by the emulator.

Other than this the emulator is doing great. Keep improving on stuff like JIT timers and SNES emulation and wish you guys luck.

Many cool Nintendo DS games exist but I would love to know some of the best DS games real people have played. I would love any respondents to tell me whatever makes those games special to them. It could go for legacy, characters, stories, gameplay, visuals, or even musical tracks. Maybe I could even give em a try sometime with MelonDS if I get any special recommendations. Thank you if you respond.

I've already made a post like this in the past but I want to post a new thread that is more carefree.

Digimon World DS as well as it's sequels Digimon World Dawn and Digimon World Dusk hold a special place in my heart as one of the best DS games I've ever played, especially if you're into creature collecting RPG games akin to Pokemon.

Say that doesn't sound like a half bad idea. I actually have a former interest in getting into more monster collecting games and Digimon seems to be an underrated gem of series. Not too interested in getting certain Pokémon games like Sword & Shield at the moment for personal reasons and the expense, but I happen to have a couple NDS files for Digimon games so I think I'll give the series a go some time. Sweet recommendation.

If its a Pokemon game then Pokemon HeartGold.
In general then the MegaMan StarForce series because its a nice continuation to the Battle Network series on GBA.

Thank you, past Pokémon games must have been built with a lot of love and I'll jump more into Mega Man as time goes on.

I would have to say personally Pokemon Black 2, it just had such a great storyline and core gameplay imo, plus it was my first Pokemon game that I had ever beaten.

I also heard from other multiple people that older Pokémon games have the best stories in the series so I will definitely keep this in mind. Modern Pokémon games still have nice cutesy story building, but if the story of Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 is just a little more depthy like with the Mystery Dungeon spinoff games that sounds intriguing. I'm getting a lot of nice recommendations related to monster collecting games lol.

Dude, Black 2 is amazing, and so are the Gen 4 games. Gen 6 fell off, Gen 7 was not too bad, haven't played Gen 8, and I don't really want to. Everything about Gen 5 is good, just F trubbish, all my homies hate trubbish.

Personally I think all generations of Pokémon would have to be great in their own ways, even the ones I haven't fully touched yet. I'm just worried about gen 8 with main series Pokémon games on the Switch though, haven't actually played Sword & Shield myself so I don't wanna judge too hard and a lot of other people seem to like it, but it seems to be lacking a lot a lot of nice features from earlier games like double battles, triple battles, rotation battles, mega evolution, and Z moves so that sucks.

I question weather or not Pokémon stories should have more seriousness again cause the grunts of Team Yell don't feel like SUPER threatening villains. And it's nice the protagonists in modern Pokémon games are good moraled and respectful, but something about their happy-go-lucky personalities about being the best all the time feels kind of . . . robotic, ish?

. . . Then you have the elephants in the room with battle animations and a missing national dex so there's that lol.

I'd be interested to know your own thoughts on generation 8 if you respond however cause everybody has their own original tastes. My view on generation 8 is simply from an outsider perspective after all.

Same here honestly, I haven't seen much of Gen 8 or played much, but the experience from it used to be changed so much, it's just kinda out of place compared to the previous main stream games. I didn't really like Let's Go that much either mainly because it didn't feel like a Pokémon game at all, since you didn't fight wild pokemon, and the game was a cake walk almost.

Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee was a nice little appetizer for Pokémon on the Switch but I think it would be nice if they played just like the regular games too.
The explanation however might be of how the two games were reportedly more simplified versions of Pokémon titles aimed at a more casual audience.
Although hardcore fans might not be the target audience and would not appreciate the two games as much.

I might skip Gen 8 and beyond for a while but I guess that's okay with me, there are still a ton of Pokémon games from past Nintendo consoles I never even jumped to yet. From main series generations such as 4 and 5 to spinoff games like Ranger, Stadium, Conquest and possibly more, I'll still be busy on Pokémon for a while.

Yet again though I do wish Game Freak would start taking more time with their Pokémon games again. The spinoff games look like their receiving more time & effort put into them compared to main series games now which is kinda funny lol. I'm personally more excited to try out Pokkén Tournament DX and Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX. New Pokémon Snap looks fire as well.

Yoshi's Island DS has some strange visual glitches where the menu for the title screen is distorted. The sky for the island seen at the title screen is black and does not appear as blue. Other objects also have missing textures and do not display in the way they should. I'm having trouble figuring out how to post images onto here so I can directly show what I mean by this. If any worker for melonDS can accompany me on this issue, however, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
