Seems possible as I've managed to access another game's Entralink for a short period of time. Every NPC you talk to there (including the Entralink's carekeeper) can cause a disconnect, freezing the game though.

The way I did it was have my Black character stand in the bridge as the White one kept going in and out of the Entralink until it linked successfully
