Depends of what you are trying to do:
- Are you trying to simulate Local Wireless between 2 computers online? Then Hamachi/Radmin will be needed, however in most cases it will not work due to the high ping (local wireless is highly timing sensitive). - Are you trying to use the WFC features of the game? It's more guaranteed to work. For that, follow this tutorial here. |

Connecting through Hamachi/Radmin is not possible because of high latency, games will probably be able to see each other but will not be able to connect. This happens because DS communications have very strict timing. This WFC error can happen if you melonDS instance is not reaching 60 fps. Error 52100 indicates that there's a problem while trying to connect to the DNS. On direct mode you have to make sure melonDS is running on administrator mode. Error 20xxx means connection was successful, but the firmware is either banned or bugged, to fix it, follow the Extra Step on this tutorial here. The MAC Address doesn't change since it's machine dependent (it'll have the same MAC as the PC you're using). What changes it the Nintendo WiFI Network ID (you gotta make sure it isn't the same). About if it's a Pokemon Platinum, I'm yet to know. Also, I recommend using clean/unpatched roms on Kaeru DNS. |

Posted by Winda It could be a NAT or UDP issue, the only way to solve that is either opening the required ports in the router OR using melonDS direct mode in wifi settings. |

To do the direct mode, you'll need to install npcap. After installing it, run melonDS in admin mode, then go to config > wifi settings and select direct mode, like this:
and then you're good to go. |

Posted by StrangeSleuth The error 61020 is a maintenance error, which is strange except if you guys were trying it when it was offline. I must ask, are you guys using an internet dump of the firmware? |

Posted by StrangeSleuth I asked if you downloaded your copy of the firmware from the internet. It's something that I saw happening a lot due to the complications of people not knowing how to dump their own firmware. |

Posted by StrangeSleuth That's probably the reason, your friend probably did delete the previous WFC settings of the firmware while you didn't. Try following the Extra Step on the tutorial to do so, keep in mind that you'll need to the configuration all over again. |

The only current workaround is using melonDS direct mode, it works 50/50 on all cases I tried helping someone dealing with the problem. |

Yeah, you can even compare the CRC32, SHA1, MD5 and such on websites like datomatic.no-intro.org to discover from which release your ROM came if you downloaded it. Bad dumps comes with a variety of issues, sometimes simple issues like the header, and sometimes complicated issues like bad sectors or a outright missing section of the ROM. It's NEVER advised to use them since a lot of problems can occur while playing them.
You can also see some ROM info on melonDS in system > ROM info. Although, it still don't have info like CRC32, SHA1, MD5. |

This may be happening for 2 reasons:
First: conflicting Nintendo Network IDs, in this case you'll have to make copy of melonDS folder and erase Nintendo WFC settings to make a new ID. You can see how to do so in the Extra Step on the WiFi tutorial on the forum here. After that, open both the copy and the original and try making them connect between them. Second: ISP/Router blaock, in this case either your router or your ISP is blocking DNS requests. |

Posted by SipahiBey That is expected, it means it went successfully. After that message, it will prompt you asking if you want to update the user information on that instance. Also, if you are using THE SAME ROM and THE SAME SAVE on BOTH instances, I recomend making a copy of them as well and opening the copy rom with the copy melonDS. |

Yeah, it's probably a ISP/Router issue then. Try installing ncap, after installing it, run both melonDS as administrator and go to config, WiFi settings, enable the direct mode there and select the network adapter you use to connect to the internet. Remember to do that on both the original and the copy. |

What's the file size of both (both the .ML1 and .SAV files)? If they are compressed or encrypted on any way, melonDS will not be able to read them. Just out of curiosity, does the .sav file comes from no$gba? Also, .ML1 is a save state file from melonDS, try loading it as one to check if it isn't empty. |

The .sav file is definetly off, it's size was supposed to be 512KB. Congratz about the save state tho, after loading it, try saving in-game. |

Just tested and it went fine:
Which server are you using? Also, check if you are either using indirect or direct mode. |

Do not change the PC clock AT ALL. Every time you do that, it'll mismatch the DS true internal clock (which never changes). The system have that protection to prevent that sort of tampering and the unfair advantages it give to players. Also avoid save states, they'll load at the time they were saved and thus they will also reset the internal clock triggering the same defense mechanism. Also, check if the "randomize MAC Adress" is enabled within wiff settings, if it is, disable it. Otherwise, the game will think it has been loaded on another Nintendo DS and it will also trigger the mechanism. |

Actually, save-states are only useful when trying to save the game from a soft-lock, disabling the C-Gear avoid the soft-lock. This happens due to melonDS still not emulating the power saving properly. While the Wi-Fi works fine, however some ISPs blocks specific ports that the DS needs resulting on this, check if melonDS is allowed through the firewall. If it's either the router or the ISP, you can try to circumvent using melonDS in direct mode (admin mode is necessary for this). |

Try using the dev version and see if the problem persists. If it does, try using direct mode. |

Try installing the Microsoft Loopback Adapter and use the direct mode with it.

This is a known bug in melonDS, the C-Gear bugs the game after a while. It's happens because the wifi power saving feature is not yet implemented.
