Ah, I see! So it was the infrared comms all along( heard somewhere that the game use this to verify if it's running on a emulator or not). I don't have to worry about it then.
Anyways, thanks for the answer

Are you running melonDS in admin mode?

Non-direct mode is feature of the emulator that allows(besides other things) you to connect to the WFC without having to use admin mode, it only works on wimmfi DNS as stated above tho. For the direct mode(enabled by default) you have to run the emulator on admin mode.

My bad, apparently the non-direct mode is now enabled by default(the one that only works on wimmfi)
Hmmm, now instead of not finding an access point, it's simply not being able to connect(thus giving the error 20100). This could be some server side issue. Which server are you trying to use anyways?
I recommend you to use direct mode(the one that requires admin mode) due to the fact that is WAY more stable and is supported by other WFC servers. This mode also needs wincap to work. Here's a link fo wincap's site https://www.winpcap.org/install/.
To enable direct mode, you go to: config > Wifi Settings > Direct Mode(require wincap/npcap and ethernet connection) and tick its box.
About discord, I mostly don't use it, but feel free to add me, Wifall#5328.

As far as I know, MelonDS Ni-Fi emulation still isn't perfect( due to some packets loss). However i've been wondering if it's safe to use it. I s it possible, during Ni-Fi communications, that some data get corrupted?

So, since the communication client->host lose replies, is it possible to get some data corrupted?

You now have to place the .sav file on the same directory the .nds file is. Then you just have to open the game and the save will be loaded.

First and foremost, you need to install either wincap or pcap to use the wifi( There's a mode under works that will remove that need, but its pretty unfinished right now).
Also, you gotta run melon on admin mode, to use Wifi(non-local) you gotta use two separate folders for melonds each with their separate firmware.
In both melonds' firmwares(this can be done separetely), load-up a game(that uses wi-fi), go to nitendo wi-fi connection settings of that game(It can be found in different places on each game, on the case of Pokémon SoulSilver you're using it's right there before you load your game), go to options once you are in, then select "Erase Nintendo
WFC Configuration" and then select ok(this must be done in EACH folder of melonds). Once you're done you can try to connect via Wi-fi club.
Edit: Forgot to tell ya, official WFC servers are now defunct. I suggest you try using this alternate server since it does not need rom patching or Action Replay 172.104.88.237, all you need to do to access it is putting the adress in the DNS settings under wfc settings.

You need to install either of these two(I use wincap, never tested the other one).

hi...I probably have a similar issue...I have an ethernet connection and npcap installed, but when I go in "config"--->"wi-fi settings" I am not able to select direct mode. About npcap, I just downloaded and installed it, do I have to do anything else (i don't know, configurate something...)? thanks

You gotta run melonDS in admin mode to do that.

That's strange, this error usually happens due permissions issue(usually when people don't use admin mode). Where's melonDS located at your PC?
Probably it's a problem in your router's end, try changing the adapter to your main one(the one that you use to connect to the internet).

The error 20100 wfc error is normal(since wfc is dead), you will need to setup a DNS to connect. There are various options, I use this site to connect, since it doesn't need a patcher. You just have to set up it's DNS to connect in the WFC settings of the game(and since it's saved on the firmware, you'll only need to do this once).

That's utterly strange... maybe npcap is not working properly in your computer(same happaned to mine). Try uninstalling it and installing wincap.

I forgot to ask, which operational system are you using? Because if it's Windows 8 or 10 Wincap probs is not working because of that(Windows 7 also got problems, but with npcap instead).

Actually, it does not work. However apparently there's a way to circumvent this, you'll need to install the microsoft loopback adapter and select it on melon as the adapter you'll be using to connect.

Its actually possible. You just have to go to config -> emu settings and uncheck "boot the game directly" option. However you must know two things before doing this: 1st - For some reason melonDS breaks the firmware it's using(making it not able to boot) after changes have been made into it(like wfc settings for example). 2nd - MelonDS Wireless multiplayer is still beta, there are some packet loss client->host side, that happens since some of their reply windows miss and then are discarded. So there's the possibility of data getting corrupted.

nvm, I found out that the firmware become unable to boot regardless if it has been altered or not. It just boots the first time. If you close then try to open it again it will not boot.

Nope, doesn't work at all. Apparently melonDS breaks the firmware.bin file(not enough to cause any issues, but enough to make it not boot).
