I doubt translation's gonna happen anytime soon, but I could help with Spanish. (I'd distinguish Spain but not like it matters a lot for UI lol)

I'm currently in the Kuribo64 Discord server so I can be contacted that way. Just in case though:

Also, uh, if you dont have a DS to dump the DS BIOS files from, Google is your friend

you probably need to install libslirp:
sudo pacman -S libslirp
you can just use the AUR package though: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/melonds

hello! please don't come to an emulator's forum to shit on it, that's rude and undervalues the work of everyone involved! if you really think fixing the wifi or using Vulkan (which btw, in the case of the DS doesn't have enough advantages to make it worthwhile) is so easy, then just go and do it yourself! the source code is available! just don't bother people who have spent hours of hard work making melonDS usable at all by saying "this sucks"

thank you!

There's very few bugs that happen because of the built in BIOS- it's not impossible that that bug emerges from FreeBIOS but it's very unlikely.

Honestly, what will probably help most is instructions on how to recreate that bug- including your PC's operating system, what settings you're using, what rando you're using and with what seed/options, etc.

I've also heard the C-Gear kinda fucks up some stuff (even if I dont remember anything related to video freezes soooo

Posted on 11-21-22 08:00 AM, in On the compatibility with GBA Link | #5653
it really doesnt matter though (in the sense of melonDS): GBA mode support would mean basically creating a new emulator inside melonDS, which would have its own bugs and issues, and it's a whole other can of worms. unless mgba gets integrated into melonDS for this stuff don't expect this to happen in the near future
if you wanna know more about this try looking up the GBA mode information in gbatek, iirc it gets started by setting a register? but yeah the hardware side is just. the DS builds on GBA hardware, and they probably added some more GBA-exclusive hardware to ensure compatibility. all i can say abt unused hardware is that the ARM9 processor is obviously not used in GBA mode

not sure what might be going on
- what version melonDS are you using
- what does the ROM Info window show
- are you using builtin BIOS/firmware or did you add your own files

savestates will break between versions, if you keep using them you're either gonna a. have to stick to an older melon version anyway b. restart your game c. actually use the ingame save functionality

That's not how that works - the memory expansion pak is a piece of hardware and needs to be supported by whichever emulator you want to use. In the case you're using a console- uh tough luck?
