Yeah, I've noticed that even if you boot a game from the DSi NAND, the game still plays in original DS mode. Which is annoying, as I can put the exact same details in the Wifi Connection menus, and it'll work on the DSi firmware but not on the DS firmware. Which means it's not my internet connection blocking the connection, it's just the DS firmware not recognising it.
What older version was you using to access the Avatar Sector? It's odd that an old version worked but the current one doesn't. |

ARM7 bootloader dumped? Might be useful later, but not right now. Isn't ARM9 needed as well? |

Posted by poudinkThe emulator can now do the latter. Attempt to open the GBA game in the emulator, and the DS firmware should say there's a GBA cart inserted. Then load the DS game. |

Your wifi settings aren't the problem. I know because I'd had trouble getting wifi to work, and just sorted it the other day after someone posted a different IP address to use. Yet this game still can't do it's multiplayer stuff, because the Tag Mode freezes the game.
I wonder if using an older version of the emulator would work? Looks like version 0.8.2 doesn't hang, so it must be a glitch introduced since then? |

Error messages can be misleading. Try it and see. The only thing that matters is, when you test the connection, is it successful? |

If you're playing on a real console, could it be you have a dead battery in your game or your DS, meaning that one of them is causing the desync by losing track of time? |

Just saw this on No$GBA's release notes. They released a new version four days ago and...
Did they steal code from Melon? Arisotura is Melon's developer. |

Voicemeeter could be to blame - do you have a speaker icon in your Windows taskbar? It should be to the left of the clock at the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on it and choose Mixer. The menu it brings up will have volume options for Speakers, System Sounds, Microphone, and any running apps that are making sound - such as Voicemeeter and MelonDS. It may have muted some of the other settings when you installed it. If so, just turn the volume back up on those sliders! |

I can think of two reasons why DS multiplayer emulation took so long to develop and is still not fully working. One, the dominant emulator DeSmuME had some sort of disagreement among it's development team, so the wifi was removed. And two, wifi emulation was completely pointless for a while because of the demise of Game Spy, which took down Nintendo DS's Wi-Fi Connection functions. That meant a method needed to be found to create an alternate connection, something MelonDS has succeeded with, allowing it to emulate wifi. But it's still early days.
3DS emulation of course never had such delays, so when games became playable, wifi was usable on Citra as well. |

I'm guessing the fact you used save states is to blame for this. You haven't been using the in-game save system, else you would've noticed this long before you challenged the Elite Four. |

The other games I've tried work fine, but for some reason opening Tales of Hearts in MelonDS 0.9.2 brings up a message saying "Failed to load the ROM. Make sure the file is accessible and not in use by another application" when you try to open that game using Open Recent, and the Recent menu gets a new entry added with the file address missing the C:/User at the start. Opening it by searching the file folder works fine. Why does only that game cause that error, and why is it happening? |

Posted by Arisotura C:/Users/James/Emulators/desmume-0.9.7-win64/games/3169 Tales of Hearts - Anime Movie Edition (JP).nds And like I said, other games work just fine, from the same folder. I just checked Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and keisui's right, that game produces the same error. Same path, but at the end it's games/4225 - Kingdom Hearts - 358-2 Days (US)(M2)(XenoPhobia).nds Must be something specific to those roms. The error doesn't happen on Tales of the Tempest, Tales of Innocence, Sonic Rush Adventure, Might and Magic Clash of Heroes, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, or Kingdom Hearts Re-Coded. |

Make sure it's formatted as
######## ######## ######## ######## Eight characters 0-9 or a-f, a space, then eight more characters, per line. Without the space in the middle, it'll turn red and not let you confirm it with OK. Any illegal characters (like, say, g) will also turn it red. |

This glitch also affects the two Nancy Drew games published by Majesco, The Deadly Secret of Olde World Park and The Mystery of the Clue Bender Society.
I wonder what those visual novels have in common with RPGs Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Tales of Hearts? |

Yeah, I'm using 0.9.2 (the folder says 0.9.1 because I simply put the newer version in the same folder to preserve settings), downloaded from the main downloads page. The recent roms menu didn't even exist in earlier versions, did it? Anyway, here's the contents of my melonds.ini file).

Yeah, it's .dsv files that you need to convert to .sav files, not .ds1. |

Yeah, the only thing MelonDS can't do is actually play the GBA rom - clicking on the Play GBA game option on the DS firmware will just get you a blank screen. So don't worry when that happens after selecting the GBA game... just open the DS game from there and it should work. |
