Don't know why, but I can't toggle speed. I made my toggle key tab, and my speed up key space, neither work.

That setting only toggles the Limit framerate option, if you have Audio sync or Vsync enabled then it will have no effect.

fast-forward takes care to disable vsync and audio sync.

if that one doesn't work, this might just mean your computer is just fast enough to run the game at 60FPS.

Oh, I had no idea. That being said, if your GPU enforces Vsync, and you are using OpenGL, then the fast forward won't work. That's probably the issue.

latest melonDS has a proper vsync setting, but yeah, if the driver is set to override that, it's going to be limited to 60FPS regardless

Is there any way around this? What about on melonds mobile?

If you are using any external application like RTSS to control frame rate, it will prevent MelonDS's FF from working. Close any software like that and enable MelonDS's framerate limiter to allow FF to work freely.

If you aren't using any external FPS limiting applications, check to see if you have something enabled in your Nvidia/AMD settings. You can also create a custom profile for MelonDS and set the framerate to unlimited there, then just enable the limiter in MelonDS.

You may have to play around with it a bit but these are all things I did. If you don't want to use an FPS limiter then set your monitor's refresh to 60hz and disable the framerate limiter in MelonDS.

Good luck!
