Hello, I've been aware that people have tried and failed to get Mario Kart DS to work in MelonDS in local multiplayer either on one PC or between more.
I tried again recently and the game manages to have a connection error after connecting for a bit, plus the host emulator gets a large bit of lag. I've tried all the tricks, fps limiter on/off audio sync, etc. I also know that lots of people have been having good success playing mario kart ds on melonds via WFC. I am wanting a local non-Internet dependent setup. I thought I heard a rumor that if you own an older router that supports WLAN, then you could host your own WFC server locally, and perhaps then multiple instances of melonds can make use of the "Direct Mode" requiring winpcap and connected directly to this WLAN capable router allow for "local multiplayer" without an Internet connection by using your own private server via said router. Please, does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how to set it up to work. Thank You! Edit: I also saw this too, but I would not know how to setup and run it locally if possible: https://github.com/barronwaffles/dwc_network_server_emulator |

local multiplayer is unfortunately still screwey and unstable and doesnt hold a connection for too long , due to timing issues needing to be so exact . i had the same thing as you where i was able to connect for just a little bit then it disconnected . only thing to do is to wait patiently until the devs work on it more ____________________ www.keisui.bandcamp.com |

I think local multiplayer is stable enough to run on LAN now, but I haven't tested it myself. If that's not working for you then you'll probably just have to wait for more progress to be made unfortunately. |
