what version of melonds are you using ¿ i have select mapped to shift with no issues at all , maybe you have an external program overriding the shift key ¿

weird , i always have steam open but then again it wouldnt surprise me to be the issue as i know it does mess with controller inputs . i did see something for custom keyboard inputs on steam recently as well so that would check out yea
