Me and my buddy were playing Dragon Quest 9 in multiplayer. We wanted to be able to retry a boss fight, soe we made savestates for both before the boss fight - in multiplayer - yea sounds dumb ik
Also I was too stupid to just create a new save state so I overwrote the only two I have. We tried to reload the saves, but melonds froze upon doing so - both of them because I reloaded both of them inrelatively quick succession. Then, as if it (I) couldn't get more stupid, in my panic I accidentally reloaded the save for player 2 in melonds1's menu. So it completely and utterly overwrote player 1's save file. The save state(s) that we made still have both the original files, we just can't load them into melonds anymore cuz it keeps crashing when we do so. None of the suggested recovery options worked (unload save, timewarp.mln, file history in windows). Is there any way to "uncorrupt" the save state, or make it readable again? I don't even know what exactly corrupted it, if it was because we were still in multiplayer, might there be a fix? Or is there any way to revert the save state "back in time"? Or maybe extract whats left of the old save file (save at the church) that should still be somehow present in the code for the save state? I'm frustrated, we lost all data cuz the save that is lost was the save with all the game progression. Please help. I hope there are some tech wizards here that can work wonders. |
