hello

I'm having an issue with this game, whenever there is dialogue that happens ONLY during a fight, the text boxes are empty. It's only happening on melonDS, and it isn't a faulty rom or anything. I've tried it on RetroArch with desmume, and also the melonDS core, and they both worked fine. The game runs so terrible and the sound too on RetroArch though that it's almost unplayable.

Does anyone know the fix to this? I feel like I've tried all the graphical settings and nothing seems to fix it. I've created a save state in a middle of a fight where dialogue pops up, and then if I load that save state, the text will show for that one bubble, but then the rest of the dialogue bubbles that pop up don't work.

Thanks in advance.

probably one of those bitmap sprite issues I fixed a while ago. But they never ended in a release.

So... how did you fix it? Is there something I can do on my end to fix it, or is the game just gonna have to be like that?

try replacing your melonDS.nro file through this one: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=N0hSsPpBXpUI0fzl and tell me if it fixes it.

Tried it twice just in case I messed up the first time, unfortunately didn't work though :(

I'm sorry, but how do I upload my save file onto the thread? I don't see the button to upload a file anywhere.

use the Kuribo64 uploader: https://kuribo64.net/uploader/ or Google Drive etc.

the savefile you provided is empty. Did you just start the game?

Sorry, I think I uploaded the wrong one. I have 2 diff save files of two different instances, and they're both at basically the beginning of the game.

save 1: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=auhqDo3ypVAsttBp
save 2: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=aPYJnGpDhK0aWD7X

Those should now be the right save files.

you're in luck. The issue turned out to be both interesting and but also not that hard to find. I'm surprised this did not cause much more issues.

Here is a compiled binary which should fix it:
https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=R3ASTwCfAhc2g2g5

I hope I get around soon in making a proper release with this fix and new features.
