I can't get the external microphone setting to work. In Brain Age unfortunately you need more than noise, you need to actually speak words... I wish melonDS had some way of testing the external mic, or at least select which microphone you want to use. I suppose the default should be picked, but it's impossible to tell anyway. Is this feature working?

it should be working, I tested it and it works. it might indeed be picking the wrong input device, melonDS picks the default one.

I disabled every other mic in Windows sound control panel, so there is only one enabled and this is still not working, is melonDS somehow picking up a disabled mic? That's gonna be difficult to change because it's a virtual output from VoiceMeeter I can't exactly uninstall only one of the input it provides (the other is the actual physical mic).

On a side note, I've noticed that the retroarch core is lacking external mic support. Is it because the core is lagging behind the standalone or is it not supported by the frontend? I wouldn't mind putting some money down for this feature and an up to date melonDS (in case it is not) but I'm not sure where the work needs to be done actually.

we don't develop or support the retroarch core. ask whoever makes that port.

How to write an emulator
1. throw code to be emulated somewhere
2. make memory system that allows accessing that code
3. emulate CPU
4. have fun implementing all the other hardware
