If I were to use a proxy server and my friend used the same proxy server and we both had "bind local port" in the wifi settings for melonds enable, could we play a local multiplayer game together? |

Local multiplayer requires fairly precise timing, and is already unstable enough when done on the same PC, I wouldn't expect good results if you were trying to tunnel that connection through the internet. |

I’m interested in whether it can work now. 3 years have passed since then, so I hope there’ve been some changes |

You made me remember how my friend and I played Minecraft via Hamachi. Tbh, I still have no idea how that thing works, but it greatly helped us play then. Actually, you can try using these proxies residential. It may help you solve your problem. You know, I wonder if Hamachi is still available. The last time my friend and I played Minecraft was about 10 years ago. Many things have changed there since then, but not Minecraft, lol. Anyway, hope my small tip will help you. Best wishes and Happy New Year! |

local wireless doesn't use network sockets anymore, so port forwarding, VPNs or other virtual networks (Hamachi, Zero tier one, ...) won't do anything.
Netplay via the internet is planned, it has to work completely different anyway to be reliable (with everybody emulating all instances and the keys being transmitted across the network). ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! There are different types of proxy servers for different needs. Have you tried changing proxy servers? |
