Hi everyone;

whenever I try to open melonDS to install after downloading the initial .dmg, I get this error:

[image]

Anyone had this happen before?

My mac in general is having issues opening software that it "can't scan for malware" because its from unrecognized developers. Starting to regret mac vs pc.

If the image doesn't pop up, it says :

“melonDS” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Brave downloaded this file today at 9:12 PM."

Right click on the app and select Open and you will be able to open it.

This is a security feature meant to attempt to stop people from running malware by preventing running unsigned applications by default. It's pretty annoying but also sort of understandable why it's there given the state of a lot of PCs I've seen...

this is just apple wanting developers to pay them money to "verify" their app.

try this: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac
