Hey guys, I'm playing Pokemon Heartgold on melonDS version 0.9.4 and I'm trying to trade between two instances on one PC, but I just can't see the second person in the union room. I've read hundreds of threads and have all the setting needed. Bind socket is activated, randomize MAC adress is activated, limit framerate and audio sync deactivated, I copied the rom and save files and renamed them, I even tried to trade between heartgold and soulsilver. But nothing works... Please help me I've already wasted so many hours trying to get it running |

Posted by patataofcourse hmm thank you but i dont know what you're saying is, i might try downloading one of the older melonds versions as i saw some working months ago on youtube, as well as this quote from another thread: "It works absolutely fine with older versions of the emulator like 0.8.1, but not the with the latest builds from github. " - https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=2124#2124 |

ok CONNECTING WORKS PERFECTLY on melonds version 0.9.3 (which was used in the tutorial i watched), i didn't even use different copies of a rom, but one same rom for two copies of melonds', open at the same time to trade (even though the tutorial i used uses 2 different roms). I only needed to import the .sav file for the rom i open (you can import the same one on both melonds', and the 0.9.3 melonds makes a .sav file in the same folder with the same name as the rom (.nds file) im importing the .sav into, unlike 0.9.4 which was also the version i tried but couldn't see my other self to trade with on).
I checked the private network checkbox, and unchecked the public network, public network being not recommended by the windows 7 firewall query that pops up at the point when you get to the main menu in the pokemon game where you can either start a new game, load/enter your save file, edit wi-fi setting etc., and it works. tutorial i used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qQ_5wACkgU EDIT: i tried to use two different sets of the same copy of bios files for both of the melonds' and it didn't work that way |

Posted by ijustwannatrade Thank you! That was my problem... my internet was set to public network and not to private. Now everything works |
