before writing this thread I've spent the last 2 days searching for solutions and trying them but none worked.

Right when I try to connect 2 instances, white 2 and SS from the same PC, I get the "No game card" error, I've tried dfferente versions of melonDS and none have worked for me, 9.3/9, 7.0/8.3, 8.3/9.0, 7.0/7.0, 4.0/4.0. I've also tried both pokemon soulsilver and pokemon platinum, to see if the .nds was the problem, but nothing changed.

Does anybody know if there is something else I can try?

It might not be of great help, but some other details that come to mind are that white2 is exp patched and in english, while SS and platinum are in italian, also I might have tinkered a little too much with the WFC while trying to make it work (unsuccesfully) and the two emulations might have different DNS address, although very unlikely. Should I be extra careful to have them both on the same DNS?

We are currently aware that MelonDS has some issues with the generation 5 Pokemon titles. However, this issue is certainly new to me.

One of the first things to come to mind is Firmware. In my mind, if both emulations use the same firmware files (excl. bios7 and bios9), the two systems can not find each other as they are technically finding themselves. Which in it of itself is not possible. You can effectively make a new firmware file by wiping the internet settings as seen here:

However, as far as I'm concerned this method also requires you to make a new progression file. Which obviously negates the purpose of this method.
This is about as much help I can give you without further knowledge. But perhaps someone of the development team can be of more help.

Thanks for the anser, this means that in theory if I load 2 differet firmwares, bios7 and 9, it would be an improvement? I'll try next time, as for now I have resorted to my last option, using pkhex to emulate the trade

The Bios7 and Bios9 files are exactly the same for each Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite system. As it stands, there is no need to replace these files. You will only have to replace your Firmware binary.

If this does not help, then using external save editing tools would indeed be the closest thing to a transfer.

Please take a look at the tutorial in this post:

I believe that the cause of your error is that in the second instance (the one you are running the Gen4 game), you should go to Emu Settings and uncheck the option "Boot the game directly". Then, when you load the game, it should boot the firmware first, and display the game title on the screen. Then follow the other steps.

Well, you can give it a try.
