Some days ago i have to reboot my OS, after that my Desmume doesn't work so i download MelonDS, i'm making a challenge in stream where I play Pokemon HG/SS but i can only uses shiny pokemon, so i manage to export the savefile that's not big deal, but i have a savestate with Ho-oh Shiny that i couldn't catch bc a reward of my stream, but i'm able to catch it today, my question is, there is a way to export the savestate from Desmume to MelonDS?
I have my pokemon - HearthGold.ds1 file and i know the save state in Melon are .ml, I already try just changing the extensión but it doesn't work, i hope you guys can help me because i don't want to grind 3000 more resets (or even more) again haha.

No, save states contain emulator-specific data (that often don't work across versions, let alone other emulators).

How to write an emulator
1. throw code to be emulated somewhere
2. make memory system that allows accessing that code
3. emulate CPU
4. have fun implementing all the other hardware
