Is there a way to take my save file on Dragon Quest IX (any game really) from Melon and somehow load it into the actual game cartridge to continue my game on an actual NDS? I'm not asking how hard it would be, but if it's possible with existing software/ hardware. What would I need, etc? If you have an actual answer and not a guess that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

id imagine youd just load the rom (that contains the save file in the game) into an r4 card and that would work

I'll have to look into that option, thanks for the idea. If anyone else reading this has any other methods in mind feel free to put them down.

Pretty sure there's no way to inject a save into a game cartridge. You can use a flashcard or nds-bootstrap though.

TWL Save Tool on a 3DS can do this.

You can restore a save from MelonDS to cart by copying the save to Checkpoint (whatever folder holds X games saves) and renaming the save to match whatever is in those folders. So for example if I am restoring a save from Pokemon Soulsilver I would rename the save from "POKEMON_SS_IPGE01_00.sav" to "POKEMON SS.sav" and then launch checkpoint and restore the save.

im not sure if you meant to respond to me as my comment was about not being able to use melonds save states (.mln extension) with a ds rather than poudinks about injecting saves onto a ds cartridge , but good to know i suppose

great question , specially considering my previous reply (and the newest reply until now) was from three years ago lol
