And also in general how do i trade with myself on pokemon what i have tried doesnt seem to work

If you mean melonDS local multiplayer:
1st - Open 2 windows.
2nd - Go to config > wifi settings on the first window and enable Bind socket to any address.
3rd - on the every other window, enable mac randomisation and enable Bind socket to any address too.
Now local multiplayer should work, keep in mind that some games still not work.
4th - keep in mind that this process will need to be repeated every time you close all of melonDS instances, it will always save the configuration of the last window closed.

Make sure you're using melonDS latest version. If it doesn't work try also disabling frame limiter/audio sync.

Bind socket to any address isn't necessary from my experience.

Don't need it, the Wimmfi is related to WFC connections.
Here, you are going to use Local Multiplayer, it is a different feature.

Yes, already did it before. Any local communication reliant feature might work (although it's not assured). You might have to try a few times tho.

When attempting to trade between gen 4 games i always get this error gen 5 works fine tho

Edit: turning off audio syncing fixed it
