It’s nice to provide a dumper, but there are no instructions on how to use it. Do I need a flash card ? Can I just put it on the SD card ? But where on it ?
Please help me, I’m lost, and I can’t find another thread addressing these issues |

are you referring to the DSi BIOS dumper? if so, it's best to run it on a DSi via unlaunch directly. ____________________ Kuribo64 |

Posted by Arisotura I'm referring the dumper provided in the FAQ page. I also have no idea what unlaunch is :/ |

oh, that one. you need a way to run DS-mode homebrew on your 3DS. then you run it like you would run any other DS homebrew. it will dump the BIOS and firmware to either your flashcart or your SD card, depending on what you run it from. ____________________ Kuribo64 |

i'm having issues with the DSBF dumper on my 3DS as well, it hangs on the first "Dumping firmware" step. i'm not exactly sure whether it has something to do with twilight menu++ (it shouldn't) or if the o3DS just doesn't have the ARM9 BIOS (although i could be totally wrong about this one). |

Posted by eblu You aren't the only one with this issue. It seems this is the case on the New 2DSXL |

I can confirm, DSBF dumper DOES NOT work because of the way that twilight menu++ is set up. I asked the NH discord on it and they say that its not compatible. |

Posted by Meganium97 So, there's no way to dump the 3DS's DSi firmware without a flashcart? |

If you wish to use the dumpers designed for the NDS(i)-Systems, then indeed. You will require a flashcard to boot into NDS(i)-mode. NDS-Bootstrap methods may work, but with some workarounds. I recommend in this case to use original NDSi hardware and install CFW on that. I have previously made a guide on how to do this here.
To be fair, you will need a NDSi-system for this. I am not acquainted at all with dumping firmware from a N3DS-system. Flashcards are easy to acquire however. A quick google search for "R4 Gold 3DS" reveals various options that are decently cheap. ========================== |
