When limit framerate is on, the 2 instances of melonds will communicate for only 1 or 2 minutes. During this time the emulators will progressively slow down before eventually freezing and displaying a communication error. I've read that by turning off the frame limiter the communication can run for longer, and I have found this is true. However, doing so presents a new problem: The emulators run too fast!

Both instances of melonds run at 100+ fps, despite my monitor being set to 60hz (naturally 300hz). Although my connection is now permanent, this has made the game completely unplayable.

Turning on audio sync causes an immediate communication error, and turning off JIT only slightly reduces the speed. I have tried on both versions 0.9.3 and 0.8.3, but both produce this problem. I have tried playing on an external monitor that only runs at 60hz, and making my laptop show only on that one, but I still have this problem. OpenGL and Software render options seem to have no effect.

I hope there's just something simple or obvious I'm overlooking because I can't find any other person with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not a bug, this is because of the strict timing of DS local multiplayer and currently there is no way to limit speed when using local multiplayer features.
