I am playing Age of Empires Mythologies (DS) and im trying to play via wifi to get an achievement as part of my completionist run and while i manage to get a connection, i can't actually find any matches. I have been running a second instance with a different rom and same wifi settings, even added both profiles on the freindlist. WHile both of their status shows up, their names arent shown when i connect both to wifi.

This may be happening for 2 reasons:

First: conflicting Nintendo Network IDs, in this case you'll have to make copy of melonDS folder and erase Nintendo WFC settings to make a new ID. You can see how to do so in the Extra Step on the WiFi tutorial on the forum here. After that, open both the copy and the original and try making them connect between them.

Second: ISP/Router blaock, in this case either your router or your ISP is blocking DNS requests.

Did but now i get a different message in the game.

"Unable to connect to WFC because the Nintendo wi-fi connection User information from the NDS and the Game card do not match.

I did erase the wi fi connection settings as instructed on the game

That is expected, it means it went successfully. After that message, it will prompt you asking if you want to update the user information on that instance. Also, if you are using THE SAME ROM and THE SAME SAVE on BOTH instances, I recomend making a copy of them as well and opening the copy rom with the copy melonDS.

Did just that and they both connect to wifi, however, when i go to random challenge or connect to a friend, nothing is shown.

I have added each instance on each prifiles friendslist as well and both of their status is shown corrently when using wifi, yet somehow, the game cant find both of them.

Yeah, it's probably a ISP/Router issue then. Try installing ncap, after installing it, run both melonDS as administrator and go to config, WiFi settings, enable the direct mode there and select the network adapter you use to connect to the internet. Remember to do that on both the original and the copy.

Still didnt solve the problem.

Edit: Problem solved. I had to turn on randomized Mac address.
