I'm trying to setup the emulator for testing. I was able to dump the needed files from my DSLite and it worked fine and I got to run a game no problem (so far).

However when I went to dump from my DSi, the dsbf_dump seemed to work, but the dumpTool would apparently just hang. I left it alone for a couple of minutes before giving up and checking the sd card, and nothing was generated. I then tried to yolo and use just the bios files to see if it would work, but I get a "DSi ARM9 BIOS is not a valid BIOS dump" message, which I am unintuitively assuming it's because I didn't provide the NAND... right?

Any help would be appreciated.

that message is shown because the DSi ARM9 BIOS isn't the correct size (it should be 64KB).

and, you do need a NAND, DSi emulation won't work without that.

Indeed the size is wrong, I have a 4kb/16kb for the 9/7 one... but why? It was acquired straight out of a DSi.

As for the NAND, is there any other way to extract it if dumpTool isn't working?

you got the DS-mode BIOSes.

you can use this dumper to get the proper DSi BIOS.
