Hi,

so basically, I wanted to use my 3DS's firmware on melonDS to not have to delete my friend code everytime I try to play online on a different setup.
I followed this guide to dump my firmware & arm7 & arm9 bios files with the rom, then, here is my issue : when I try loading a game while having selected the files for my firmware, I only get a white screen. The FPS aren't stable, they are usually around 60/60, but I can boost them and they never go below 50 so I guess it's trying to run something? idk might be irrelevant

When I try loading it with a random firmware I had on my PC for a few years, it works fine, same when I try loading the game without any firmware loaded (so I know its a problem with my files).

Did I do something wrong in the process, or just a bad dump? Can someone help ? if more info is needed i can provide it, just ask :))

Giving the solution in case someone comes across this thread in a few months / years :

What's wrong is your ARM7 file. You can get one online, and use your own ARM9 and firmware files, your game will load just fine, and you'll be able to keep all your old friend codes as well as your own friend code.
That's what worked for me

Yeah, it's usually a bad ARM7.

All I can say is find a better dump, or get the most up-to-date version of DSbiosdumper. And make sure you dump from a DS Lite or DS photo, not DSI or 3DS.
