Is opengl supposed to be absurdly demanding or something? every time I select it my performance goes down a lot, I just want to play at 2x resolution. |

The OpenGL renderer is a bit more intensive than the software renderer (if you compare both at 1x).
Capping at 30 FPS sounds more like some VSync being enforced if anything. Also if this is a laptop, plug it in. |

Yeah I actually needed to plug it in, gaming laptops usually do that, but still I was surprised about the huge performance loss, is usually not that severe lol
