Hi,I found this emulator just today, and I have a quick question.
Can I use the insert GBA-Slot option to transfer Pokemon from a 3rd Gen-GBA save state to an Pokemon Platinium save state using the PalPark ingame feature of gen 4? Because for me it looked like i could only emulate the GBA-Slot to be filled with the GBA-ROM to unlock ingame features, but i didnt see an option to use an GBA save state. If there is no such feature, is it possible to implement this to the emulator? Sorry for my bad english. Greetings. |

This feature is already implemented.
It is unlocked once you have accessed the Pal Park at least once in your Gen IV game. Before loading your NDS ROM, go to File > Insert ROM cart... and select your GBA ROM. Then File > Open ROM... and select your Pokémon Platinum ROM. During the load game screen, there should appear a new option: "Transfer from [Game Name]". Then you select this option, click yes, and select the Pokémons you want to transfer. Now go to the Pal Park, talk to the NPC and join the Catching Show. |

Posted by Vulpliks Thanks for the fast answer. I'll defenetly try this as soon as I have finished Platinium. But don't i have to select the save file from the GBA game as well? So I finished Fire Red Edition and want to transfer some Pokemons to Platinium as soon as I've finished the game. Do I only have to select the "firered.gba" file in melonDS or do I have to select the "firered.sav" somehow? Because I saw no option to select an .sav file in melonDS. If I don't have to select the .sav file in melonDS, how does the emulator know about the Pokemon I catched? If I do have to select the .sav file in melonDS, how do i do this? Thanks. |

I believe the idea is to keep the save file in the same folder as the ROM file, and with the same name.
For example: "Pokemon - Fire Red.gba" and "Pokemon - Fire Red.sav" Just make sure that your GenIII save file has at least 6 Pokemons in the boxes. And while in the Pal Park for the Catching Show, make sure the option "Config > Firmware > Randomize MAC Address" is turned off. In Pokemon Platinum, you can only transfer up to 6 Pokemons per day, while in Pokemon HG & SS this is unlimited. |
