Hi! I use a DualShock 4 for most of my PC games, including emulated games. Dolphin specifically has support for this "DSU client" thing that I know lets many more inputs be accepted from the controller, including motion inputs and (most importantly for me) touch inputs. I don't have a lot of uses for touch input in most Wii games I emulate, but I know Citra lets that be used to emulate the touch screen with the DS4's touch pad.

I was just wondering if something like this would be possible to implement in melonDS, be it sooner or later. Maybe it's already too late to try and implement something like that? I don't know anything about emulator development so excuse me if I'm asking a stupid question. I'm just excited to see this emulator potentially become the best way to preserve everything the DS could do.

Thank you for reading!

melonDS uses SDL2 for controller input which actually now supports all of the features that the DSU protocol does, so there's no need for it anymore.

Touchpad on the DS4/DualSense can be supported without that many changes probably and would actually be a nice feature to have.
