is there a way to import cheats from a cheat database? i know it can be done in the android version but i cant seem to figure out how to do it in the windows version

from what i read you need to have your usrcheat.dat file next to your rom and melonds and they should show up in your cheats list but i just cant get it to work , maybe its because im using a custom made usrcheat.dat file , but the codes themselves work if i paste them in one by one so idk what the issue could be
