You may be aware of what's going on in USA. I'm not going to go in detail over this, but I'm going to state that I stand with the protesters. For the end of racist policing, for the end of capitalism.


Other than that, little status update on melonDS. We're going to merge the JIT branch for 0.9. I figured that it would be easier to merge the DSi branch first, so I've been updating it. I'm going to clean it up some and fix a few things to make it good for a release.

The Qt UI is also nearly complete. All that remains to be done is the cheat interface and taking care of VSync. The other issues have been solved, including the one where the final executable required 25 DLLs -- by using the qt5-static package for MSYS2, I managed to get it down to a standalone executable that is about 21MB in size.

I was just looking for a good DS emulator but I found this hilarious political thread instead. I completely disagree with your political opinion, but I respect them, and wish you luck on this emulator.

I agree with you, there is way too much racial hate in this country. I myself am a progressive and a christian, and I can tell you Arisotura, whatever you think about the situations in america, it is much worse, much, much worse than you think...
I don't think being hateful is godly and I also don't think these right wingers, well extremist right wingers need to examine their beliefs and repent of their many sins. The idea of:

Doing whatever it takes to win, no matter who says or does what, aka, the ends justify the means is so arrogant on its face and evil that I honestly cannot stomach either party. But I will vote democrat as long as there is more light in them which currently there is a lot more.

Trump and his supporters/enablers must be defeated. Corporate democrats can be defeated later.

PS, If you wonder, I don't believe in judging people for the most part thus it is no issue one way or the other whether people are of LGBT or not.

Just so you know, I harbor no ill will to you Arisotura for this reason and others. I wish you the best on continuing and completing this emulator. And I really hope the mass majority of these trolls change their exceedingly evil ways.

I stand with you, Arisotura. Black lives matter, trans lives matter and the capitalism hurts basic humans rights, maybe not everywhere and not for everyone, but for a lot of people. It takes courage to stand up and tell your thoughts, congratulations on you for this and on your work in this emulator! In the end, everything is about politics. yeah, I'm privileged. I mean, it's not like I'm a neuroatypical trans girl, it's not like I lived in squats for two years partly due to the trans thing, it's not like I spent a large part of that time crushed by depression.

give it up already. there's no seeking 'cool points' or whatever here. I stand for what I believe is right, and there is no neutral position on these issues. if that means turning certain people away, so be it.

this post alone might not change a lot, but it sent a message which seems to be effective: emulation isn't "apolitical" entertainment. The spaces we use to communicate about it, should not be an environment where racists, transphobes and other bigots have free rein.

PS, captialism is by nature a deadend like you think Arisotura. I think socialism needs a bigger vein of control in the world. Actual socialism like denmark or germany would be benefitical to our world.

USA which I am from, feels like its controlled by ungodly pretenders who think they are superior to everyone else. Those who think they are the best and superior to everyone else are usually the ones who are the most inferior human beings out there. :/

Nationalism is a sin, captialism, same thing. I detest the ideals of hatred and abuse of power and moreover, I think we all need to be more respectful of others and do the right thing more. And above all not try to cheat to keep our leaders in power, or lie to win.

by socialism in germany you mean the gdr (aka east germany) or west germany, now whole germany? I can't help but laugh this, considering both are far away from socialism. It just shows how messed up America is, most of our moderate conservative politicians would be thought of as "too leftist" to have a chance for any political position in the USA.

USA's so far right that things that are fairly normal to us, like healthcare, are 'communism' to them, and Bernie is considered a radical leftist when we could consider him a moderate at best. either way, 'communism' is gaining traction in the USA, so all is not lost. guess leaving people with choices like 'die from medical causes or go bankrupt' doesn't work too well, moreso during a pandemic.

or even, things like having to choose between food, heat and rent, which is becoming sadly common under capitalism, all while Jeff McFuckhead Bezos makes something like 10x your monthly income per minute. at this point I wonder who still buys into meritocracy.
