Hi!
I have a simple problem. melonDS runs badly on my pc. What frustrates me is that i have no idea why. I've got a Ryzen 9 3900x 12-Core processor running at about 5% with melonDS open but for some reason, even the firmware sometimes just refuses to run with more than 40fps. It's not even consistent. Sometimes I can bring the emulator to run an a constant 60 fps by just starting it a few times in a row. I am using the software renderer for the true nintendo ds experience, but switching to openGL doesn't seem to make a difference fps-wise. When melonDS does decide to run at 60fps i greatly prefer it over desmume, because it doesn't glitch out with the 4th gen pokemon games. I have no idea why melonDS sometimes just refuses to run properly, but if someone has any idea on how to fix this I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! |

Posted by Generic aka RSDuck frame limiter generally makes the audio stutter. no frame limiter + audio sync gives me the best results. deactivating both makes the game and audio run at 200+ fps. |

Posted by WaluigiWare64 thats the setting i used in the beginning. depending on i don't know what, it makes the emulation run on either 40 or 60 fps. when it's running on 60 fps the audio doesn't stutter. |

ok, the framerate just dropped again.
whats really weird is that it always stays about the same for the time its running. if it starts with 40 fps it will stay that way and if it starts with 60 fps it will stay at 60. only when starting the emulator the framerate lottery opens. |

Another Update: With ne newest revision the emulator performs even worse. Are there any drivers i should reinstall? Could this be a problem with C++ and i need to reinstall that? |

Update: I just read another thread about something i didn't consider.
https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=409 It's that. Now that's unfortunate. |
