I've been playing Pokemon hg on the Drastic emulator for quite a while now and was wondering if I could migrate my save file over from the in game save state on my phone over to the melonDS in my PC.

I mentioned "in game save states". Is there a need to modify the save file?

Drastic uses .DSV, so I change that to .sav?

Can you please elaborate a bit more on it?

I've transferred and altered the file (into .sav) and it's already on my computer, how do I get the my save to be on the emulator?

I've figured it out, here's list of steps specifically for those who want to transfer saves from Drastic over to melonDS:

1. On your device with Drastic, look for Drastic's file itself (in my case it's Phone Storage > Drastic) and find the backup folder. Inside will be your in game save. It's in the .dsv format.

2. Transfer it over to your PC

3. .dsv files won't work for melonDS, so change the file into a .sav file by changing the ".dsv" into ".sav".

4. Make sure both your ROM and save file have the same name and are in the same directory.
Example: game.nds
game.sav

5. Still won't work just yet, use a hex editor to open up the file.

6. Now if it's your first time using a hex editor, you might get confused (I know I did). Here's where the cool part about Drastic helped me. If you scroll all the way down, there will be a decoded message besides the binaries, it's going to tell you which parts to delete in case you're using anything except a DesMuMe emulator. Delete that.

7. Save the file and open the game.

Hello, I would like to get this out of the way and start off straight with my question.

"Are there any risks of potentially altering the connection between my PC and my Access Point using Online Mode?"

melonDS emulates an AP, which requires the use of an ethernet connection, and I only ever use Wi-Fi. So in forming an AP on my computer and connecting it via Ethernet, I'm worried that it might alter something between my PC itself and the original AP.

I'm just a beginner to understanding the works of emulation and the likes, so this is just an uneducated guess. If I'm either wrong anywhere or my question falls under "stupid", please enlighten me.

indirect mode (which doesn't require it) works just as good as the direct mode.

From what I understand in another thread is that for indirect mode to work, I need to untick all the boxes in the WiFi settings. I tried that but keep getting the error code 20110.
(I did put in the Primary and Secondary DNS as instructed on the WFC tutorial)

I'll forward my issue in another thread, thanks. (Reasoning being unrelated to thread topic)

I'm having an issue with Wi-Fi. I've also tried multiple games to no avail, oh and I'm on version 0.9. So what I understand is that indirect mode pretty much replaces direct mode and that to use indirect mode, I don't have to check any settings? I've done exactly that and can't seem to connect to any WFC (I've tried multiple with every combination with using same DNS's on both primary and secondary and 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 in the secondary. It's gotten to the point that I can recite the DNS's by heart). Everytime I run the test connection option it shows "Error Code: 20110" and I can't get a connection at all. And I know this problem isn't just for me because I asked a friend to try using it and he encounters the same error.

Does anyone know of this problem and can you please help me with it?

I've tried multiple. Namely: Wiimfi, AltWFC, pkmnclassic, etc. And I've tried all the combinations on all DNS's.

Yep. Good ol' Error Code: 20110, I'm gonna have nightmares of the text.

And I've also contacted Wiimfi's admin, it's not blocked in any country so that takes VPN out of the story.

Yep, I've tried all combinations I could find.

My 0.0.0.0 might be a bit off(?). If I enter it manually it says the settings are invalid, if I don't it appears as 0.0.0.0 as a default.

I found someone on r/wiimfi with the same problem. They're on 2DS.

"You are connected to the Kaeru WFC test page."

I think that's a yes, is there supposed to be anything other than a title and a subtitle?

So that rules my ISP blocking the DNS out... I've no clue where I went wrong. Hmm.... from what I understand of Error Code: 20110, it's shown when a user tries to go online after the Nintendo WFC shut down.

You're also having the same problem now? So now we have something to keep us busy, I guess. :/

Did you connect to Wiimfi on the current build or a previous one...?

Hi, I've been experimenting but so far it has shown no results. Any luck on your side?
