Yep, the glitch still happens, and it's not just Platinum. Happened for me also in Pearl: when you pick the option to get out of underground, upper screen fades to black, but the character does nothing, remains frozen in place as controls also lock up and music continues playing. Can get pretty frustrating, when you spend quite a lot of time digging up stuff like evolutionary stones and rare bones, because there's no way to save without leaving underground. Not sure what can cause that. However, it doesn't happen every time, not for me at least. Sometimes I'm able to leave just fine, with all of the loot.

Yes! This took quite a few digs, as I mentioned, it doesn't happen every time, especially when I was fishing for this glitch on purpose, haha. But when I took an honest attempt, it glitched, so I think it either happens when you spend some more time (20 mins+) in the underground or you move a lot of items to the bag, then try to get out, maybe both of these things, maybe neither. It never happened when I was just running around without digging, no cheats used other than changing the system date to make dig sites appear.

Also excuse me for being a dummy at forum using.

I didn't even know there was such a glitch in B/W. I managed to snag another save state, which isn't exactly softocked, but seems to have 100% lockup rate upon attempting to leave underground, if there is a way of getting around it, I sadly didn't discover it yet. I don't know if that's going to help any more, but nonetheless.

Anyway, I hope there is a way to fix this glitch.

Nope, after seeing no dig sites I turned off entire emulator, changed the date and powered it back on

I went ahead and tried digging today, sadly glitch is still very much present in the current melon build :( I'm almost fully positive it has either something to do with long time spent underground or big number of items moved from treasure slot to the bag, or maybe the amount of digging done. Either way, it's very frustrating because of this, I really hope it can be narrowed down and fixed at some point.

Alrighty. Playing US Pokemon Pearl rev 5, heres the save: http://www.mediafire.com/file/gjsq2prd600xe5y/Pokemon_Pearl.sav/file

Although this glitch also happened to me before on US Pokemon Platinum (no rev) as well, which I'm guessing the op also encountered, but I don't have the save to that anymore.

I've encountered this bug once and never again, when I finished digging one place. I have no idea how to reproduce that one. I'm sorry I can't be of any more help, reproducing the bug originally reported seemed easy, but time consuming to me.

Sorry for late reply, but I cannot get the build you linked to work, as it calls for an insane amount of .dll, some of which I simply don't know where to pull from, such as Qt5Core, Qt5Gui and Qt5Widgets. I'm sadly a complete newb when it comes to the github stuff, I only followed the instructions there.

Now I'm getting this error:

I used the instructions on github from how to build on windows section and they worked pretty fine, I don't really understand anything else there

Yes, it worked this time, thanks! Sadly, glitch persists just the same, I just finished checking it out. I spent well above 40 minutes of straight digging, moved items, everything froze, same as usual. https://www.mediafire.com/file/gb1f3t0g0884ioc/Pokemon+Pearl.ml1/file

I'm gonna stand by Phoenix Wright trilogy and I'll add to it Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, because I absolutely love that series. And has a killer soundtrack.

Of course, I'll also stand by every DS Pokemon game, including Ranger series and Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. In the same genre as the main games, Digimon World Dusk/Dawn, which I think are far more complicated than Pokemon, but hella lot of fun. To that effect, I'll also recommend Fossil Fighters. Really good, underrated Pokemon-like game, which sadly didn't translate all that great on 3DS.

There are also couple of Megaman ports, such as Megaman Battle Network 5: Double Team DS, which is a direct port of GBA versions (and have some compatibilities with GBA cartriges) and Megaman Zero Collection, which include all four Zero games from GBA. Both ports include some DS bonuses.

Sadly, bug is still present in the current build, just finished my digging routine. I capture a save state every time I lock up the game, but I'm not sure if it helps any.

EDIT: One thing I JUST noticed is that you can tell when the game is going to lock up: when the digging spots on the map don't disappear from the map, even though you dug everything around the place. It's a 100% sign of freeze upon leaving.

Any news on this bug ever being fixed? I've just tried 0.9 and it's still present, and I've managed to lock the game up even quicker than before, within 15 minutes. This is basically one of only two things (other being GBA slot) that prevent me from fully ditching Desmume in favor of this emulator.

Btw gba carts (and the Boktai light sensor) are already supported since the last release, though no other peripherals.

O, you are correct, this totally slipped under my radar. I was too used to big flashy SLOT 2 button, lol

Thanks for looking into this. I really, really hope this will be the most accurate emulator to match the memories on good ol' DS.

I kinda found out by accident, that numpad keys work fine IF you map the numbers on normal keyboard first, not on numpad!

What is the reason for the bug happening? Is there a reason why it's glitching out even more frequently on 0.9 or is it just tough luck?

And I found another branch of this bug... at least, I think this is the same thing. I was testing the WiFi features with underground and, as with the bug in the topic, it works fine most of the time, but sometimes it just straight up freezes when another player joins, without even a possibility of starting up the menu. Curiously, lower screen turns black after save state is loaded, which it doesn't do when the bug happens. At this point, I'm not even playing this save file, just testing different stuff lol

I know this bug is being worked on, but I just wanna put it here, in case this isn't the same bug, but it looks to me like it is

Is this the same save? Like, one save used for both melon windows? I personally found out it doesn't work well, unless you make two copies of this save and load one on each.

EDIT: also, you want to turn off both limit framerate and audio sync, and then in WiFi settings you want to turn on both the bind socket to any adress AND randomize MAC address. This works for me pretty well and if it spits out blue connection error screen, just keep trying. It just does it sometimes.

EDIT2: You may ignore the above edit for 0.8.3, just turn the audio sync and limit framerate off, though 0.9 imo works better with the local connection
