msvc is currently not supported.
The build instructions haven't been updated yet. You need to install qt and some other libraries in msys2 using this command pacman -Sq mingw-w64-x86_64-{cmake,mesa,SDL2,qt5-static,toolchain} ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! if you just want binaries and you have a Github account, you can use our CI aswell: https://github.com/Arisotura/melonDS/runs/751181473 ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

hm, let's see. Did you use the mingw64 shell and generated Msys Makefiles? ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

did you properly install msys2 (i.e. running all steps listed here? ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

local wireless requires a latency comparable to that found when two DSes are directly next to each other. In other words local wireless over the internet is now (and will probably be in the future) not viable. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! your bios files have the wrong name, look twice it's bios7.bin - 16KB - ARM7 BIOS.rom instead of just bios7.bin
same thing applies to bios9.bin ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

sure I did, you even made a red circle around it. It even says on the right rom file, not bin file. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

a dash is used commonly to give additional informations about the thing before it — it's nothing special.
Have you renamed the ARM9 bios to bios9.bin ? (putting the question mark here to avoid confusion) just noticed, I expressed myself ambigous in my first post. Sorry for that ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

this is a known bug with the OpenGL renderer on certain GPUs. Try switching to the software renderer. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

if it's slow because melonDS can't run fast enough the JIT might help (if I get it running with melonDSi welp!) ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

it might also be just some printf being spammed thousand times a frame

thank you for testing this.
After looking into both of your save states it looks like the issue could be wifi related as well (it all somehow gets into an invalid state, apparently not only saving but everything involving wifi leads to a freeze). So disabling the C-Gear could be worth a try aswell (I remember someone in the forum said something about this before, but I thought it was humbug). ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! no, the latency is too high. Local wireless is only supported with both instances on the same computer (and even then it unfortunately has a few problems). ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

by any chance, is there a wifi signal strength symbol in one corner (when it shouldn't be there) or the display of your playtime corrupted? ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

this is a known issue with fourth gen Pokemon games and can be attributed to the DS's GPU being very different (read: less accurate) than modern GPUs. ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go! "clearly you need to mow more lawns and buy a better pc" - Hydr8gon |

melonDS's software renderer is quite accurate, so it does very much the same thing as the GPU in a real DS and thus those artefacts don't occur. On the other hand the OpenGL renderer sends the geometry to the GPU to render it. GPUs are specialised hardware, so they are fast which makes things like rendering at a higher resolution is possible, but that also means we have less control over how they work. And modern GPUs are a lot less quirky and unexact than the DS, so things like this appear.
Regarding desmume, both it's software and it's OpenGL renderer are pretty inaccurate to the actual hardware. At some point they added a hack which prevents the black lines to the OpenGL renderer. But if I'm not wrong, they didn't bothered with the sw renderer (so it still has this issue). ____________________ Take me to your heart / never let me go!
