there's nothing which can be done. You have to return to the last point where you saved.

looks like https://github.com/Arisotura/melonDS/issues/944

it's already fixed, the fix will available with the next release. Meanwhile you can use the mac os beta build (the bug was introduced afterwards).

if you followed the build steps successfully there should be an executable file called melonDS in the build folder. To run it just type ./melonDS into the terminal.

3ds is for the most part a completely different system, so no.

the jit probably only makes a difference because without it melonDS runs slower so chances are higher the frametime of both instances overlap.

I tested this with both, mac randomisation enabled and disabled.
I also tell you that grooming in Pallet town has nothing to do with wifi (as far as I know)

it has. The mac address is used to check whether you're still playing on the same DS to prevent you from time travelling by putting your game card into a DS where the clock has been put a bit into the future. So a lot of time based events don't work as long as mac randomisation is enabled because it thinks you use another DS system every time you start the game.

Little does he know this bug is also in another more popular emulator ?

it's atleast not in desmume, they have a pretty stupid hack to prevent it.

https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=jcndZJLv7DTNi6uC

the same issue can happen in the underground in Pokemon D/P/Pt which is where I first looked into this issue. See this thread: https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?id=278&page=1 and especially this post: https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=2314#2314

what I did was to manually set that register back to value 9 so the processor would stop waiting on it to be this value.

Remember not enabling C-gear prevents this issue.

if the emulation isn't running at fullspeed (60 fps) there will be short pauses in the audio hence the crackling. Do you have the JIT recompiler enabled that should help with performance?

This is weird for me since I never had this issue and I used the underground multiple times without problems, but I have a friend that did get locked up in the underground.

the bug happeing is highly dependent on chance so it takes a while for it to occur. Also the JIT probably increases the chance of it happening.

also, are we doing savestate-fixoring black magic? that's dope

(although it'd be more dope to figure out the actual issue and fix it. I should look into it someday)

it's the power saving thingy I've lamented over so often in the past. I mostly figured it out already, except during the init sequence (I've documented the results admittedly pretty badly here: https://melonds.kuribo64.net/board/thread.php?pid=2756#2756 ).

You can connect both melonDS and your DS to the same wfc server and then trade via online.

Alternatively you can also use pkhex to move the pokemon from one savefile to another (which probably requires the least setup).
