you need to set it to DSi mode in the emulation settings. DSi mode does also require DS-mode BIOSes.

if you run my DSi BIOS dumper, it's best to run it right after unlaunch, by renaming it to bootcode.dsi and putting it on the SD card. it will then dump both DSi-mode and DS-mode BIOSes.

what it says on the tin. this requires winpcap or npcap.

direct mode is going to be useful if you want to connect melonDS to the internet, but for most purposes you shouldn't need it. without direct mode, melonDS will default to using libslirp, which should work just as well.

widescreen hacks that consist into AR codes can be used with melonDS 0.9. the only remaining issue afaik is that we don't have a 'stretch screens' mode that would complement it.

usually you can just keep direct mode disabled, for most wifi connection purposes it should work fine

oh, that one. you need a way to run DS-mode homebrew on your 3DS. then you run it like you would run any other DS homebrew. it will dump the BIOS and firmware to either your flashcart or your SD card, depending on what you run it from.
