I'm trying the new MelonDS for the DSi features and I understand they're still experimental, but I can't get almost anything to start. I thought I might reach out for some help in subjects that I don't see in other threads here. Much appreciation.

I can get the firmware to load and I can load DS files and DSi physical carts just fine. Practically everything else causes the following error:

"An error has occurred. Pres and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting"

My first thoughts of course are BIOS and NAND files, but I've tried plenty of configurations that aren't working.

1.
If I try to load a DSiWare game. It loads into the main menu, but when I run it; error

2.
I thought maybe I could run it from an SD Card using Twilight++.
I tried installing T++ onto an SD Card (copying over the Boot file and the _nds folder). When I try the camera hack, it does nothing. If I go to the SD card and select the Album, it doesn't flash magenta and take me to the Twilight menu. It does nothing. I can check my Virtual card and it did install the PIT file, but the boot file doesn't load. Just on a lark, I tried to manually load the BOOT.NDS. IT brings up the Twilight++ icon. If I try to run it; "An error has occured"

3.
I tried a fresh NAND. When I go to the camera, it takes me through the tutorial, I get to the "Capture" button; "An error has occured"

4.
Out of curiosity, I did a fresh clean install with the recommended BIOS files. No putzing. I went to the camera app and hit "Capture"; "An error has occured"

5.
I tried the BIOS files from no$gba. Same results

6.
Someone suggested using the NAND file from no$gba. I confess... I'm not exactly sure how to do that.

TL;DR I just want to run a DSiWare game on MelonDS. I don't care if it's from Twilight++ or run directly or installed directly on the NAND or what. I just want to run it without the error.

Any thoughts?

I have the same Issue... i tried to play Bomberman Blitz, that i downloaded from the e-Shop on my OG 3DS and dumped it to an SD Card using GodMode9 as an NDS File and also for Citra as an CIA File but none of these two work, neither on Citra nor on MelonDS (DSi Mode)
even though it is clearly an DSi-Ware Title from the E-Shop (i also dumped the Game-Ticket File for Emulation (TIK-Format))

1 - Dumped 3 Files - Bomberman Blitz NDS File (MelonDS) , CIA File (Citra Emu) and TIK File (Citra Legitimacy Proofing File)
2 - Tried booting the NDS File in NDS Mode - No success (Crashed the entire Program (MelonDS.exe) instead of unloading the ROM)
3 - Tried booting the NDS File in DSi Mode - No success (An Error occurred, please hold down the POWER-Button etc. etc. You know the Drill)
4 - Tried to run it on Citra as an Installed DSi-Ware Title (installed from the CIA-Installer-File) but also no success (it doesn't even show up as installed but every other installed CIA File shows up as APP-File (3DS-application)

I don't know if it is specific for DSi Games or if it's just the one Game on its own...
...or maybe it is Emulator-Side-Based, hell if i would know *sigh* *smh*

for now, NAND titles need to be installed to the DSi NAND to be bootable. we want to address that, but haven't gotten around to it yet...

DSiWare apps I have:
Asphalt 4: Elite Racing
Aura-Aura Climber
Brain Age Express: Math
Dark Void Zero
Flipnote Studio
Mario vs. Donkey Kong - Minis March Again! (culprit)
Nintendo DSi + Internet
Photo Clock
PiCTOBiTS - Art Style Series
Pinball Puzzle - The Ancients Beckon
Shantae: Risky's Revenge
Starship Defense

X-SCAPE
One particular app, Mario vs. Donkey Kong - Minis March Again! is responsible for "An error has occured" problem. Deleting it from my NAND might solve it.

DSi NAND file: FORMAT-v1.4.5U-BUNDLE.bin
Found it on: REMOVED

Games I installed from: REMOVED

So that's why I couldn't add any additional games to the NAND without breaking it! The one I was using had Mario vs DK on it. Thank you!

EDIT: After removing Mario vs DK, I was successfully able to add Legends of Exidia... but both Rayman and Mighty Milky Way caused the error to come back.

The problem is...
NAND's memory storage. It is limited.

And there's no way to show how full it is? Because all I see when I boot the firmware are empty squares next to the rightmost dsi title, implying you can add more content. Arisotura, I wonder if there's a way to completely remove that memory problem via the emulator?

Can confirm, having removed a few more apps, more stuff fitted without causing the error (allowing me to finally claim Shantae's bonus for having Mighty Milky Way installed, Maxim Katsur, you should install that and Mighty Flip Champs for some free currency for Shantae).

Might be best to keep multiple copies of the NAND with different stuff installed, until the emulator can run them without going through the firmware.
