I understand the dependencies but what's the need for KDE?

Here's the code

ipc network pulseaudio wayland

I'm not exactly the most experienced with flatpak, but from what I can see is that to use Qt with flatpak, you have to pull in org.kde.Platform.
https://docs.flatpak.org/en/latest/qt.html

Linux binaries distributed here are built using flatpak in order to have less hassle with dependencies etc. If you want a (much) smaller binary, you can always check if your distro has a melonDS package, or you can try compiling from source.

Or you could download the binary from the Downloads page.
We recommend you install it through flatpak however.

The downloaded binary never works for me. I have tried everything but it always gives me this error.
./melonDS: error while loading shared libraries: libslirp.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am currently using Flatpak one. It is really hard to move away from MS ecosystem.

You need to install libslirp if you want to use the standalone.
Also Flatpak is not made by Microsoft.
However, as I said before, we recommend you to keep using the Flatpak version. It's more easier to use and you get updates.

Hey thanks.
What I mean by moving away from MS was that it is hard to use linux. On windows you can expect things to work almost always but not linux.
