Hey everyone,
So, I've been using MelonDS for a little while (playing Pokémon Platinum), and I need to do trades to get some Pokémon to evolve. I've been trying to do trades from 2 different Platinum games running off of 2 separate MelonDS emulators, on the same laptop. It didn't work though; when talking to my other self in the Union Room, as the two were about to proceed with doing the trade, both of my games crashed at the same time, showing a "communication error". After a quick search, it turns out it's apparently something to do with the framerate of both games not being synchronized. So I tried unlocking the framerate on both windows since people said it's what you had to do, but the framerate stays locked at 60fps. The weird thing is the "fast forward" (tab key) does unlock the framerate completely while it's pressed, but the toggle version of it does not. I made sure that V-sync for MelonDS was forced off in the Nvidia control panel, but the toggle option still won't work, and I highly doubt it could be an external GPU setting overriding the emulator given that the non-toggle fast forward option is working just fine, but I can't say for sure. So yeah bottom line I'm desperate for a solution lmao, I've been on this for hours and I don't know what the piece that I am missing is; hell, I don't even know for sure if the framerate is what's truly causing the trade communication error in the first place. I don't have much of a grasp on the technical side of MelonDS, so yeah if anyone more experienced could help me get on the right track it would be very much appreciated! Ok, as it turns out I only had to disable audio sync. Thanks so much for the help! It all works perfectly now. |
