Every game I've attempted to play (Pokemon Heart Gold, Black, and White) I keep getting these artifacts on the screen. I've changed all the settings I could think of and nothing fixes it. Any help would be appreciated. Using version 0.8.3.

Try using the software renderer.

I suspect this is another case of 'GPU on LSD' -- saying this because I've had a RenderDoc capture from a setup where a similar glitch occured, and the glitch somehow magically popped up between two rendering passes

regardless, I want to fix this, but I can't reproduce it on my computer, so I'll need testing help

basically: https://github.com/Arisotura/melonDS/issues/427

does your issue go away when changing the renderer resolution, OP?

I guess I should add some more info. The artifacts do not appear during the start screen, battles, cutscenes, etc. Only when walking around the world.

Try using the software renderer.

This did fix it. Even switching back to OpenGL, the issue did not reappear again the entire time I was playing the game.

It did, but I had to go up to 5x res. Even at 4x, then artifacts were still there, just smaller. And as stated above, once it was fixed, I could go back down to 1x res and the artifacts were no more for the time I was playing. But it can be reproduced by putting the settings back and relaunching melonDS. My settings were OpenGL renderer and OpenGL display was checked with 1x resolution.
